Although 2016 still seems like light years away, these are 8 films we’re already dying to see!
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice – March 25th
Perhaps the most anticipated flick of 2016 is Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Not only is it the long-awaited sequel to 2013’s Man of Steel (recent reports claim it isn’t actually a sequel), but it’s the film that will pave the way for Justice League.
Superman (Henry Cavill) and Batman (Ben Affleck) will clash on the bigscreen for the first time ever March 25th, and they’ll be joined by Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and several other familiar faces from the DC Comics universe.
Need I say more?
Captain America: Civil War – May 6th
Originally, Captain America: Civil War shared the same release date as Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, but the latter ended up shifting to an earlier date.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier was one of my favorite films of 2014, thus I was already anxious to see the third flick. With the announcements that the Cap will face-off with Iron Man, and Spider-Man will make his Avengers debut, I’m absolutely dying to see the movie, as is everyone else I know.
Bourne 5 – July 29th
As selfish as it may sound, I’m glad Universal Pictures opted out of The Bourne Legacy sequel for the time being. Instead, they’ll be bringing us another Jason Bourne movie that will reunite star Matt Damon with director Paul Greengrass.
Although the film is still without a title, it’s already one of our most anticipated flicks of 2016.
X-Men: Apocalypse – May 27th
X-Men: Days of Future Past is arguably the best X-Men picture to date, and director Brian Singer has promised big things for X-Men: Apocalypse.
Although we don’t know much about the movie at this time, we’re told that we can expect several familiar faces from previous X-Men installments.
Doctor Strange – November 4th
Fans have been rallying to see their favorite sorcerer make his big screen debut, and Marvel has finally given into their demands. Doctor Strange will arrive in theaters November 4th, with Benedict Cumberbatch in the lead role.
Finding Dory – July 17th
It’s hard to believe that it’s been over ten years since Finding Nemo hit theaters, and ever since, Pixar has discussed plans for a sequel that would center on Dory.
In June 2016 that sequel will finally land, and it will bring back all of our favorite characters from the original movie including Nemo, Marlin and of course, Dory.
Are you as excited as we are?
The Conjuring 2 – June 10th
James Wan vowed that he was finished with the horror genre, and after he snagged the gig to direct the seventh Fast & Furious installment, Furious 7, fans were forced to face the harsh truth.
As it turns out, however, the director has been tapped to bring fans the highly anticipated follow-up to one of the scariest films in recent years, The Conjuring.
So how much dough did Warner Bros. have to throw at him to get him back in the director’s chair for The Conjuring 2? Who cares?! James Wan is back in the horror game!
